Hello Reader:
I am writing this to inform you about one of my most favorite authors, J. D. Robb. You may know her as Nora Roberts but strangely enough, I don’t enjoy Ms. Roberts’ books as I do books from her other penname.
Best-selling author J. D. Robb writes the futuristic “In Death” series and I would like to say that this is the best mystery series I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Surprisingly, she started this series over ten years ago and the only thing that saddens me is that I did not discover her books until this year. Once I started reading her first book, “Naked In Death,” I could not stop reading till I finished it. Then I had to get the next book and the same thing happened again. About 20 books later, I was still enthralled! So you see, this is why I am personally recommending my fellow zoner mystery buffs to get these books and start reading! Reading! Reading!
To those of you who have read books from this series, I look forward to reading what you thought of the books. Let me just warn those who are uncomfortable about such things that these books are explicit when describing the sex scenes. But you should read them all the same! <Grin>
I look forward to hear your thoughts on this.
Michelle
lol I look forward to _hearing your thoughts on this.
Michelle,
I love Nora Roberts. I haven't tried the "in death" series yet but do plan to start. For some reason, the NLS program has not recorded these books in order. They have the first one recorded but not the next two (unless this has changed since I last checked), but as soon as I can be assured that I will be able to read them in order, I wil start requesting them. I hate to read a series out of order.
Oh reading a series out of order bugs me as well. When I last looked, the NLS. had all the books up to "Memory In Death" (which is the one that came out earlier this year) However, they don't have the couple short stories that she wrote. You should definitely look to see if they have them available at your talking book library because the are really worth reading.
Hi, Michelle. I have read the books she writes as Nora Roberts, but not any under her JD Robb name. You sound like you think there is a difference between them? What do you think the differences are? I like her Nora Roberts books, and now you have me curious about her other ones. wonder what her real name is?
hey all,
I love Nora Roberts. I read a book by her called Midnight Bayou. It was so good. I liked it because it took me back into the past and brought me back to present times. It was a good suspenseful and mystery book to, at the end of the chapter where it talks about fighting in the past and brings you back to the present, you're like, wait, what happened! Lol. Anyway, I plan on reading more by her soon. She seems like a really good author. I think the next series I want to read is called the Garden Trilogy. I heard it's really good. Has anyone else read it? That's why I like this board because they give me lots of ideas for more books to buy since I've got over 300 audio books already, so why not get more, they're cheap enough. lol. Anyway, what's this series about if you don't mind me asking?
Talk soon,
Jasmin
The sex after my girl reads it is so mmmm fantastic!!! So guys make sure your girl reads those books! Her appetites will be flying!

Jasmin, check out the Three Sisters Island Trilogy by Nora Roberts. It's awesome.
Well, to me, Robberts' book seem more mellow than Robb's. I like how J. D. Robb has her books based in the future... It just interests me even more that it is so. Also, Robb's books just seem cooler to me because it is spacificly about the mystery which is more my thing. The romance, which is a big trademark of Robberts, just gives the J. D. Robb books the volume it lacks in most mysteries.

Wow! I also discovered Nora Robert/JD Robb this year as well. The books are awesome. Yes, they have some explicit sexual scense, but once you get past that, they are definitely books worth reading!
Michelle, I just found out that the NLS has finally recorded the second and third books in the series. I hadn't wanted to order the first one, Naked in Death, until I was sure the next two would be available if I wanted to continue in the series. So now I have ordered that one and I'll let you know what I think.
That is awesome, Becky. I hope you enjoy the books as much as I do. I just finished reading "Born in Death" which just came out in late November and loved it! I actually read most of the J. D. Robb books through my pubblic library. I wish I could buy all the books by her but the audio versions are so expensive where ever I've looked. Anyone know of a site where audio books are cheap?
Michelle
I also am reading the death series just started some of them infact. I find the series really good reading. smiles
I was wondering if any of you has read J. D. Robb's latest book "Creation in Death." I've been looking all over for it but haven't found a downloadable torrent of it. I am on my public library's waiting list for it but they've only got one coppy in Massachusetts and there are 60 people ahead of me. I have the e-book of it but jaws keeps crashing on me and I enjoy susan Erickson reading to me rather than a synthesizer. If anyone knows where I can get a coppy of it short of buying one, I'd really appreciate it. lol I'm hoping my fiance will get me the book for Christmas anyhow but I'm just asking all the same. Thanks for your input.
Michelle
Sorry Michelle, I can't help you there. I started this series late and have just finished Holiday in Death recently. The one cool thing about starting a series late is that you get to read each book without waiting a long time to get the next one. Once you get caught up with a series, you have to wait for the author to come out with a new one. I really love this series, by the way.
Hey all!! I love Nora Roberts, but have never read her J D Rob books. My talking book library doesn't have all the books recorded, and I was hesitant to start the series. Now that I read on this board that the nls has the whole series, I'll start reading them. Does anyone know if the audio book of High noon was recorded yet? My library doesn't have it yet, and I'd really love to read it. Also, does anyone know if there is a cheap site where i can get audio books cheap from? Oh and one more question. Has anyone seen the lifetime network movies of Nora's books? I did, and thought they were alright.
Um, yeah, heard of her from another thread on here. I'll try it.
No, I don't know any sites with cheap audio books. I usually read them in braille from nls or else check them out at my public library.
Hey all, I know that this thread has been inactive for a while, but I wanted to start it again. I have been reading the "in death" series for the past few months. Lately I've been reading the books back to back to back. I am loving this series so much. The nls dtb has many of the books in the series, and the ones they don't have, I buy from audible.com. The vr stream rocks!!!!!!! I think Eve has so much courage, and Roark is so hot. I love how his irish temper comes out at times. As Eve sometimes says, he's "scary" In the book I'm about to finish "Judgment in death" I love the character Don Webster. I think him and Eve have chemistry lol. People who have read further, does he reapear in other books?? Send me a pm, if you don't want to post spoilers here lol.
oooo Yay! I have the whole series now! Woohoo! For a while, audible didn't have J. D. Robb books but I was so psyched when I got an email saying how they finally had her books. Yes. Webster does reappear. lol Did you get to the part when Roarke punched him out? That was hillarious! I forget which book it was in though. lol I've read and reread them so many times and still am not sick of them. Some books are better than others obviously but I think I've read the series about 5 times now. haha I always reread them to freshen up my memory whenever a new book comes out. I read her latest book salvation in death and it was awesome as usual. Glad to hear someone else is a fan of these books! Rock on! Or should I say, read on! haha
Yes, Roark punched him out in judgment in death. I can't believe he got into a bit of a mess involving a knife. Think!!!!!!!! what book does he reapear in???? lol. I am so addicted to these books!!!!!!! Is he really over Eve, or is there more sexual tention between them???? I kinda think he is hot lol. I'm up to betrayal in death. Well, back to reading!!!!!!!!
